http://www.livingmachines.com The Webpage of a consultant group of archetects and environmental engineers that build using green technology, solar energy, and on-site wastewater treatments and air cleansing using bioremediation. The site offers white papers and examples.

http://www.rps.psu.edu/0009/machine.html Penn State is researching the technology. Great diagrams and explanations for how it works.

The Kingdom of the Seahorse is a video that tells about the sustainable aquafarming techniques developed in the Pacific islands. The link takes you to its NOVA website which offers more information about the topics covered in the video. (Buy this video from me.)

Get lots of videos and information from lime TV network (lime.com) There are also articles about sustainable architecture.The show that TV from lime tv was The Next Industrial Revolution. Bill McDonough, architect and Michael Braungart, chemist were the two that the show credited with generating a paradigm shift in architecture with the living machine.

http://www.nrel.gov/homer/default.asp This software analysis information about the electricity and other energy used in hybrid systems such as combined power company grids, windpower, solar energy, batteries, fuel cell and any other devices for energy transformation. It outputs graphs and spreadsheets for analyzing the electric power generation. Think science fair project! It is currently a free download (July, 2006) and is on a .gov website.

Be sure to click on the sign Sustainable Construction on the left of the page about midway down. It links to a .pdf file that further defines what constitutes sustainable architecture.

Backspace through the link until it connects and then search for sustainability if the link doesn't work. Why use this site? Exploring the courses (links on page) offered and the course descriptions will provide ideas for reports and keywords for looking up information. There is much info out there, but where to start? This site is a goldmine of ideas.

Green is another meme for ecology and sustainable and activism for environmental issues. Teacher Alert: Being a blog, be alert for propaganda and such, but if you want to know public opinion as well as knowledge about an issue, try it. Links to Grist Magazine and has a site search.

http://www.sustainableoregon.net/oregon/ This is the state of Oregon's site for expressing its policy on sustainability and how it is being implemented. Click on agriculture from the search box and you will get articles about examples of sustainable practices. Get political info here, too.

http://www.wysu.org/nonviolence/ This site is an activist site, but will offer information, names of people to follow on the internet for more information, green movement opinions, etc. Topics will address ethics and governmental policies. Teacher Alert: Expect some propaganda mixed in with facts.

This page lists dozens of organizations involved in soil research and therefore ecology and sustainable policies and practices. Mine the site for its information on these topics.

This is the page advertising a consultant agency that will assist in the forms and the studies necessary. Use the page for more keywords to research. Mine the site for more info.
