Data Collection
When visiting Web sites certain information about you and your computer can sometimes be collected. This section explains what information Valerie Coskrey collects, and how it is used.
We do collect a minimal amount of identifiable data about our visitors: name,
username, and email address collected by forum users and newsletter/email subscribers.
Additionally, a minimal amount of information will we provided to us by PayPal and by PayLoadz
about purchasers of products sold through PayPal buttons and by the PayPal/PayLoadz shopping cart at
http://www.vforteachers.com/template_artistry.htm
or its duplicate page at
http://www.vforteachers.com/templateartistry.htm
{Why the duplicate? There are so many links to the old page that still require correction that when the page was rewritten, it was saved under the old and new name to enable the old llinks.}
[This page is no longer an active shopping cart: http://www.vforteachers.com/forteachers_shoppingcart.html, nor is its associated View Cart page]
and at BuyNow buttons throughout the additional sites, especially at the pages where our presentation template designs are sold, except for the Amazon astores and the Golden Can estores and any eBay or affiliate BuyNow buttons. With the addition of several websites, these pages are now numerous. Additionally, CafePress shopping carts is independent of this site for items purchased at our CafePress stores. The BizReef shopping cart is likewise run by bizreef.com. The owners of these shopping carts collect info for making payments through their sites, but very little of it is passed on to me.
Payloadz, PayPal, and cafepress.com do make email addresses available to me when you purchase from items I sell, but not from items that I advertise as an affiliate.
We sell most of our VCCTI downloadable products and services via BuyNow buttons that link to PayPal via Payloadz.com. Payloadz.com is a download site for delivering our Template Design Set products and fees for freelance services. Freelance services are also available through BizReef.com and a PayPal buynow button that is not associated with PayLoadz. BizReef does not pass on the identity of its contractors; rather it provides a message service that maintains a layer of anonymity between freelancer and contractor. My BizReef buttons will link to the BizReef site, where you can purchase my freelance services. My PayPal buttons link only to my PayPal payment services. The choice of shopping carts depends on time, customer desire for anonimity, the need to dialogue during the project (BizReef keeps a page of messages on each project in one spot for easy reference), source of contact (did you find me at BizReef or elsewhere), escrow services, and other factors.
Custom orders can be ordered through BizReef, a network or blog contact, or email contact, etc.; and use either directly mailed payments, the BizReef escrow system and shopping cart, or a PayPal shopping cart not associated with PayLoadz.com, or by the customized PayLoadz/PayPal Buy Now button that will be activated on demand per custom project. Each of these methods requires a unique collection of cookies and personal information by the separate payment services. Some of this information is passed on to me according to the terms of service and privacy statements of the separate services.
Payloadz.com might collect information or set a cookie to enable them to deliver the downloadable you purchase from us. You will be billed by PayPal.com and sent to Payloadz.com to receive your download. PayPal will collect information necessary to process payments. Each posts the policy of what is communicated by them back to me.
When I receive an email address from PayLoadz or CafePress, I add the customer to the newsletter list. There will be an unsubscribe link on each newsletter email.
Payloadz.com will also administer our affiliate program. Should you elect to advertise our downloadable products, you will be submitting information to us at http://www.payloadz.com. Read more about our affilliate program at http://www.multifacetsvc.com and at Template Artistry Affiliate Page.
In addition, we include our designs on CafePress.com products. These products are sold through the CafePress.com site, which collects information from purchasers according to the CafePress.com policy terms. The products are sold by us through our CafePress.com estores and through separate image buttons that will take you to our CafePress.com estore. CafePress.com reports minimal information concerning customer identity back to the store owner. There is enough information reported that a newsletter can be emailed to a purchaser. Anyone interested in carrying our cafepress.com products on their website may do so as CafePress.com affiliate through Commission Junction.
Affiliates for products sold through CafePress.com estores should register at Commission Junction as a CafePress.com affiliate publisher. We welcome your publishing ads for our products as a CafePress.com affiliate. Each of our CafePress.com stores are listed at Multifacet Services.
We are also affiliates of CafePress.com, and post products from other CafePress.com estores not ours. Again, it will be CafePress.com that will collect the data according to their terms. Look for the ads that link you directly to our CafePress.com estores whenever you visit our pages that sells CafePress.com products. CafePress.com affiliate links have been removed from any of our products and ads dealing with our own CafePress.com estores. (Currently [10/08], CafePress.com does not allow us to use their affiliate links to own products.)
Another PayPal shopping cart will be used for products sold on eBay or delivered by mail or freight. At times we will carry items on eBay. Needless to say, information about address, url, phone, and other more complete customer information will be needed for any items purchased from us through ebay.com. We are also ebay.com affiliates. Items linked through affiliate links are handled by Ebay and the merchant posting to ebay.com.
Future plans include an online store through 1and1.com. This store will carry a privacy statement that describes the information that will be collected when you buy items through this estore. Mailing address, email, name and phone numbers of customers will be collected and treated with normal rules of privacy for commercial interactions. Read the details at the store url.
This information (your submitted customer data, forum participant information, or blog comment data) is collected only by the voluntary entry of information by
the site visitor and is used only in managing newsletter subscriptions, normal
business accounting, and product management practices. Feel free to email me to unsubscribe to any newsletter mailing.
Forum entries are moderated,
and only those entries that meet common rules of acceptable forum practice
are allowed. Our monetized blogs are located at Blogspot.com, although we plan to develop blogs at 1and1.com, and to connect to our blogs via LiveJournal.com and Zimbio.com ezine formats. Only the blogs at Blogspot.com and those within the domains of our websites hosted at 1and1.com carry our affiliate creatives and sell our products. (In the future, our Ning Network blogs and pages might do so.) We extend our cookie, privacy and other policies to cover these blogs and our MyPage network pages also (the ones belonging to us. We do not govern the pages and posting of other network members.).
Special Data Collections: Google, Google Analytics, 1and1.com Site Statistics, Amazon.com, and Amazon.com Conceptual Links
An additional note: Google and Amazon collect information whenever one uses their links. Google now collects information needed to rate the popularity of a link or site. I also use Google Analytics and the 1and1.com site statistics available to me. This information collects url/ip's and technology information, but not more personal information for my use. Amazon tries to guide users to items they will want to buy based on past purchases. This information is not given to me as an affiliate. Should I sell items on Amazon, then the privacy statements and terms of service for merchants selling on amazon.com will apply. I have been asked by Amazon and Google to let you know that as an affiliate of each, links from Amazon and Google will collect information from you. Also, opening certain pages that are specially linked to Google Analytics and Amazon context links will automatically send certain information to these sites. These interactions and cookies are not threatening and apply mostly to my site rather than yours. I do not discover your url through these sites.
Newsletters--OLD these networks are closing July 2010
{Old information: Current Newsletter and Forum policy for VCCTI is to post the newsletter at the ning.com network VCCTI: Classroom Tools and Ideas. Those who wish to receive a newsletter from the primary site and/or participate in the forum are invited to join the network and opt in to the mailing list for the blog that contains the newsletter and the forum threads of interest. Currently these are public network postings and the comments are not moderated, although this could change if needed. Also, vendors are invited to post product information to the appropriate forum thread. Anyone who wishes to receive the newsletter separate from the network may contact me and I will email a copy to you. Being a public network, membership in the network is not required to read the blog or forum, but might be required to comment.}These networks will be closed as of July, 2010.
Newsletters--NEW as of June 2010
Newsletters will be sent via email and associated with blogs on Blogspot.com. Currently the 2 blogs planned for newsletter use are http://dirtpoorbooks.blogspot.com and http://vmemos.blogspot.com, called Dirt Poor Books and Valerie's Memos, respectively. Other information will be posted in the blogs, so visit them as often as you like.
Affiliate Disclosure Statement
Please consider the disclosure statement below concerning any mention of a service or product in the blog or forum or elsewhere in the network site. Know also that my avatar on networks like Ning, Facebook, Live Journal, and Zimbio is MultifacetedVal and/or a few other forms of the spellling and Multifaceted Services. If you wonder if is me, do ask.
Other sites and newsletters could be emailed or land-mailed according to the policy below.
I will potentially send emailed ewsletters to anyone who provides an email address through the
purchase of an item, newsletter sign-up by newsletter link or email contact,
or blog/forum participation. A simple request to unsubscribe will remove one from
the newsletter mailing list.
Newsletters are available through our webhost 1and1.com, and through CafePress.com, our estore provider for many of our physical products. Each has different newsletter and email management policies and procedures. Ultimately, we authorize the sending of our newsletters, the content of our newsletters, and the mailing list. The newsletters are associated with blogs in which the information is expanded. Our blogs are attached to Feedburner.com for visitor counts and RSS. We also have connected most web pages to Google Analytics. It is possible that their other services will be used in the future.
Cookies
Anything purchased through the URLs
Template Artistry, http://www.vforteachers.com/template_artistry.htm, or at its duplicate page, http://www.vforteachers.com/templateartistry.htm, or other page at the domain vforteachers: Valerie Coskrey's Classroom Tools and Ideas (also referred to as VCCTI);
[before Dec. 08: http://www.vforteachers.com/forteachers_shoppingcart.htm] the duplicate page ];
or any BuyNow or AddtoCart button on any of the sites listed at Multifacet Services as our webpage or our product estore,
{old--discontinued as of July 2010--except these: Ning Network pages and postings not written by Valerie Coskrey or MultifacetedVal or multifacet-val or Multifacet Services or other identity that I have developed for that network;}
(our CafePress.com stores or other estores that have policies and cookies that are governed by the hosting site);
will be purchased using PayPal by way of a PayLoadz account that will request personal information
such as name, email address, and mailing address that will be sent to me in
confirmation of purchase. This site is my PayPal/PayLoadz shopping cart and sells only
products for which I am the primary merchant. There would be no cookies from
this purchase except the temporary one set by PayPal and PayLoadz that expires at the end
of the transaction.
We are affiliate advertisers for many online merchants.
Therefore many of the items we display for sale on pages will take you to the
merchant site.
We do not use cookies on our Web site. However, you will be directed to reputable
merchant sites to buy many of our advertised products. These merchants will set cookies
that will credit Valerie Coskrey with the commission for the sale. The username,
account number or other identifying code in the cookie referring back to Valerie
Coskrey differs with different merchant/affiliate networks. Some of the cookies
are useful for several months, some only for a few days or hours.
Additionally, some of our merchants like Amazon.com and Google Search now use cookies that collect data to inform the merchant of a customer's interest to better refine the product search algorithm. Google Adsense has requested that you be informed of the special interest algorithm that is now in use for anyone clicking on a Google AdSense link (an advertisement link).
About Cookies and Affiliate Marketing
A word about cookies: Many of the products sold here will be purchased through
the shopping carts of another merchant site, the actual provider of the
products. These providers will use cookies to track the purchase back to
this site of mine. These cookies are how I get credit for the sale. Please
allow these cookies. They should last from a few hours to 60 days (some website
developer merchandise last up to 6 months), depending on the providing merchant.

A word about scripts and iframes: Some of our affilliate ads are in script and iframe forms. Please trust my sites and know that I have personally chosen what ads to post and products to advertise. Also, we have posted Amazon a-stores and Golden Can estores on our sites. These are reached as iframes and as html links. Should you choose to block scripts and frames, these links and creatives become unavailable to you, and consequently the commissions become unavailable to me. Much of my site is ecommerce.
Much of my site is information that I believe will be useful to homeschool families, school students and parents, and teachers, including the products that I choose to advertise. I hope you enjoy the informative nature of articles posted and the images included. I hope you will try the Template Design Sets, both the free downloads and the ones for purchase.
Do use the forums, blogs, and contact links to give us feedback. We welcome your input.
We also invite you to submit articles that you would like to include under your byline. I will gladly build a page for your article if I feel it fits our site. I do reserve the right of editor to determine what can be included. We want to know about teacher stuff and links to teacher stuff and hope you will email us with new information, product suggestions, product critiques, downloadable forms and documents, lessons, etc. We add designs by other artists to our Template Design Sets and can work out arrangements to sell your sets or ebooks or lessons with you subject to our editorial approval.
Freelance work contracted through these sites or through BizReef.com are assured of our confidentiality and work quality in the same manner. Policies for freelance work are published at Multifacet Services Ning Network and Multifacet Services.
{old: network to be closed July, 2010. Freelancers are encouraged to join our network and participate in the ebook writers group, the Multifaceted Writers group, and develop their own My Page there. (It is FREE.) Each freelancer participating in the forums and networks associated with Valerie are responsible for their own privacy policies and any contracts with consumers or collaborators.}
Disclosure Clause
Every effort is being made to post this clause below on most pages and posts. However, if you missed the clause on any page I authored, please consider this as notification as required by the FTC as of October, 2009. It is verbatim what is being placed on the webpages, even down to the link at the end that is to this page.
Disclosure Clause: I am an affiliate advertiser of many merchants. I am also an opinionated critique of just about anything that strikes my fancy. In my postings I do tend to mention that a product would be good to try. Sometimes I am an affiliate for the product or a store that sells the product--even if I do not realize it and make the connection and post a product banner for it!--when I realize that I can advertise the product, I try to let you know that directly. However, if I do not, please take this statement that chances are I am an affiliate and could potentially be compensated for any mention of a goods or service. Also know that opinions expressed are my own and in no way express the positions of any merchant for which I advertise. Read more about shopping through links on my pages and blog posts.
Thank you for visiting our site(s). Feel free to contact Valerie with any questions or problems.
